Known to many, the Administration building is chockfull of tales of yore. One of the most grisly was the usage of the basement as a torture chamber for prisoners of war during the Japanese Occupation. Screams and rattling chains would unsettle the Fine Arts division, forcing them to change location. Some say the hauntings prevail to this day.

According to myth, a daring feat was executed in UP Cebu by a pair of lascivious lovers when they rendezvoused in front of iconic Oble circa 1980. They said that back then the Oblation Square was dark enough at night for one forbidden tryst. The lovers are unnamed.

The first urban legend a proper iskolar of the UP system would hear of is the curse of the Oblation. The story of the curse varies but the common belief goes that taking a picture with the Oblation statue as an undergrad will hinder a student from graduating on time. Apparently, the curse is strongest in UP Diliman but is spread through all campuses.
